In a newly-built log house in the Polish city of Ślesin (in the Greater Poland Voivodeship), the timber has been treated with Bochemit Estetik to bring out its natural charm, as well as to protect it against water penetration and UV rays.
The house was designed and built by Logpol Grupe Wirex, a company whose field of specialisation spans from log houses to gazebos, restaurants and hotels. As well as undertaking designing and building projects, it also takes great care in recommending and using preservatives which act against biotic pests. Needless to say, the preservatives it chooses are harmless both to people and the environment.
The house in question was built from dried pine. The company chose Bochemit Estetik because it offers high quality, is easy to use and has a high yield (one litre of Bochemit Estetik can be used to coat up to 12 m2 of wood, depending on its absorbency and the number of coats). The selection was approved by the house’s owner. Two pine-hued coats were applied to the outside of the wood only.
The company will continue to use Bochemit Estetik in future and is set to apply it to another house currently being built in the town of Mierzyn.
